Welcome, Bovine!

Well, after a few days of major contemplation, we decided to get the puppy!
Meet Bovine:

She's almost like having a real baby...I'm exhausted! The people we got her from said she was housebroken, however, she's not. :/ It started with a #2 in my car on my way home with her!!! I chocked it up it her being scared, and never riding in a car before. Luckily I had a towel and a blanket in the back seat so there was minimal clean-up, but it was a long, cold, and SMELLY 20-minute drive home. There were a few pee-pee incidents inside the house which I was not happy about, but the last few days have been great. I hope she keeps it up. She acts like she's been here the whole time and Shae LOVES having a playmate!

The cat on the other hand, is pissed, as we figured he would be. I feel bad but he'll come around. He's actually doing way better than I thought he would. Here's a picture of him actually sleeping in the living room just a few feet away from the dogs...in his own chair, of course  :)

I can't wait until everyone is all settled into a routine and things are back to our "normal."

To Adopt or Not to Adopt...a Puppy!

Recently, I was propositioned to take in another animal-a 15 week old pit/boxer mix who desperately needs a home! A friend had asked me a few months ago about the same breed, and we discussed it a little, but I just didn't feel it. Needless to say, we decided against it. My friend's brother had a litter and got rid of all but this one they call Cow. I always talk about getting a puppy, but when I saw her picture, I KNEW I had to have her! After seriously considering it for the last 3 days, I'm pretty sure we're going to take her. Shae needs a playmate, and this puppy needs our loving care and home.

New Year, New Hobby

It's time to put my Christmas present to good use. I got a laptop, and am always on it, so I figured why not be a little more productive and start a blog? I can't promise it will interest you, but here it is! I figure I will bore you all with the details of our simple life.

After talking about it for years, we finally went to the Winter Garden aGlow at the Idaho Botanical Garden and I loved it! It was so pretty and romantic. We sipped hot chocolate and ate cinnamon roasted almonds as we looked at all the lights. My favorite part was the little hike and the view of the city from the top, and nobody was up there but us :) I didn't realize until we got there that my camera wasn't working, so I took a few pics from my phone.

Prancer even made an appearance!

This was our first Christmas as a married couple and it was lovely.

We had a nice dinner & exchanged homemade treats with my family a couple days before (I made these yummy marshmallow truffles)

and gathered with Nick's family the day after

so it was nice to wake up and stay home (and in pajamas) ALL DAY! I was really hoping for snow though! We spent the majority of the day opening our gifts, watching movies, and just relaxing...well, sort-of...we had to play with our new toys! Nick got me this laptop and some other things,

and he spent a lot of time transferring files to his new external hard drive and putting his bookcase together.

I also cooked my first turkey dinner and I have to say, it was fantastic. I'm becoming quite the domestic goddess ;0) I think I'm warming up to the idea of starting a family with our own fun Holiday traditions.
